Support the workers at American Licorice! The members of Baker’s Union Local 125 have been out on strike for two weeks, maintaining a 24-hour picket line outside in the cold. Management is proposing major cuts to health care. Seeing this resolve, on December 19, management went to City Hall to have them remove the workers’ heaters and hotplates they’ve been using to warm their food.
 

The workers are doing their regular 8-hour shifts on the picket line at the plant on Whipple Road and Liston in Union City, near the Hayward Yard. They’re targeting for turnout on Wednesday, December 21, at 1:30pm, though they can use support any time, and especially during the night shifts when it is the coldest.
