The President shall have duties as set forth in the General Laws: It shall be the duty of the President to preside at all meetings of the Local, to preserve order and enforce the Constitution and Bylaws; to see that all officers perform their respective duties and appoint all committees not otherwise provided for. S/he shall have the right to vote in secret ballot votes at the same time and along with the other members who cast their ballots. Otherwise, s/he shall have a right to vote only in the case of a tie when there is a standing or hand vote, when s/he shall give the deciding vote. S/he shall announce the result of all votes; s/he shall have the power to call special meetings when requested by one-third (1/3) or more of the members in writing; s/he shall sign all orders on the treasury for such money as dictated by the Constitution and Bylaws or by vote of the Local by ordered paid; sign all checks and drafts on bank and perform such other duties as the Constitution and bylaws of the Local may require.

The President shall have the authority to appoint and remove all shop stewards, subject to the approval of the Executive Board.

Vice President

It shall be the duty of the Vice President, in the absence of the President, to preside and to perform all duties pertaining to the office of the President and to render such assistance as may be required of him/her. In case of a vacancy in the President’s office, s/he shall preside until the Local elects a president to fill the vacancy.

Financial Secretary/Treasurer

The Financial Secretary/Treasurer shall keep a true and proper  account between the local and its members and collect all monies due the local.   S/he shall report to the local at each meeting the amount collected.  S/he shall make a quarterly statement of receipts, deposits, expenditures and balances and deliver his/her  books to the auditing committee when so desired for authentication.  S/he shall see that the Local is kept in good standing with the International Union, forwarding all reports to the General Office and receiving receipts for the same.  S/he shall make no disbursement without an order from the President, attested by the Recording Secretary.  S/he shall, in the name of the Local, deposit all money in the bank that the Local may select to be drawn upon, drafts signed jointly by him/herself, the Recording Secretary/or Vice President and the President.  S/he shall give such bonds as the Local may require.

Recording Secretary

It shall be the duty of the Recording Secretary to keep a correct account of the proceedings of the Local, to call the roll of officers, carry on all correspondence and perform such other duties as pertains to his/her office and to deliver to the Local at the expiration of his/her term of office all property entrusted to his/her care.  Typed and signed minutes of the Executive Board and/or Regular Membership Meetings shall be submitted by the Recording Secretary no later than the Monday following these meetings.  Minutes of Special Executive Board and/or Membership Meetings shall be submitted no later than three (3) working days after such meetings.  In the event the next scheduled or unscheduled meeting(s) do not permit sufficient time to render a formal report, the notes of the Recording Secretary will serve as the official minutes of such meeting(s).
